Back to scrapping....

Websized-in-n-out Favorite-things-2-wesized Our-grad-websized Here are a few layouts Ihave managed to  get done. It was nice having a bit of a break after CHA but I couldn't bear to not be doing something for very long! Scrapping is so relaxing to me. The graduate layout I used some leftover diecuts that Jenna and I used for her Senior party as table decorations!! Have a great rest of the week!

Maya Road Disneyland album...

_MG_8369 _MG_8374 _MG_8378 This is a little mini album I made of our recent trip to Disneyland for Maya Road CHA-S. I used their new chipboard foundations to make the Mickey head and ears. I also used the 5-ringed round tabbed book for this project. I cut the tabs off the album and used them to make the Mickey hats that hang from the side of the album! Creative Imaginations paper and stickers used throughout the album and other little Maya Roadies goodies! Go here to see all the new items that will be at CHA-S!! I can't wait to get my hands on that circle sheer sheet and several of those new albums....especially the clear acrylic!! That has my name all over it!! :)

Another peek....

This one was seen here! I used new Maya Road chipboard coasters, painted them black, glued a popsicle stick in between two coasters, and stamped with the new clock stamp on cardstock. I then laminated the stamped cardstock so the time when the plant needed watering could be circled with a dry erase marker. In Photoshop Elements I made the front part of the plant sticks (flower, spices, herbs) and then sprayed everything with a sealer so it could withstand being wet. I also used Maya Road butterflies and attached them to uncurled paperclips. IMG_8026 IMG_8033_edited-1

Another Maya Road project...

_MG_8253 IMG_7996 IMG_8002 This is the Maya Road Card box and card set that I used for a project. I bought some blue fleece and wrapped the box and stitched the edges. Maya Road chipboard word "boy" and Maya Road buttons added too. Then I  placed words on the back of each photo. This project is going to baby boy after the show! Kirsten and sweet her

CHA project peek...

_MG_8449 _MG_8454 _MG_8454

Here is a little project I did for Maya Road using their awesome sheer ribbon! I L-O-V-E this stuff so much that I got a whole roll just for my own use. First I took and old frame and removed the glass and the back. Next I measure my ribbon and cut and then stapled it to the back of my frame. Then I clipped some 2008 Prom photos in a 2x2 size and hung them off the ribbon. This ribbon is perfect as it has some give and it stretches!Go here for a look at the new sheer ribbons by Maya Road...you are going to fall in love! I promise no more frame projects for a while! I guess I was on a roll! Anyway, enjoy!

DIY Memo board (with Making Memories Passport collection)

Memo board Okay, I just couldn't help but share this one! I found this home decor fabric and knew that the new Making Memories "Passport" collection items would go great with this fabric. Here are the instructions: I used a 16x16 frame and removed the glass and others extra stuff. A piece of foamboard cut to 16x16 (most places with a framing station will cut this for you for free). Next, cut your fabric about 18x18. You will need a regular stapler and will staple your fabric to the foamboard. After doing one side, pull tight to staple the opposing side. Do the others sides the same way. Pull the fabric at the corner in and staple. Put you fabric covered foamboard in your frame and either staple to your frame or mine had those little folding metal arms things that I just bent back down. Now is the fun part...adding stuff. I used clear nametags, pieces of ribbon stuck through a pin, chipboard letters on paper circles with a thumbtack glued to the back, tags, a metal frame with glued thumbtacks on the back, and a clear circle to decorate my board. You could switch the foamboard out with one with different fabric when you needed a change our you could make it seasonal! Here are a few photos!Staple it on Have a great holiday weekend!! My 200th post and a little Maya Road peak!!!

Here is a little peak at one of my projects for CHA-S. This is Maya Road's sheer tabbed binder with a twist! I found this incredible material and knew it would go great with all my San Francisco photos from this Summer's vacation. I had a lot of fun with this one!! _MG_9137                                                                                   _MG_9138

I know this isn't a new idea...but they sure are cute!

I just thought I would make the girls some new luggage tags before we head out on our trip to NYC this October! You know how you can never seem to find your bag (along with the other 500 blue ones!)...well this should solve that problem. I just used some name tags from Office Depot, some pp, a circle punch and some left over sticker letters. Next, I used some of Maya Road's AWESOME clear ribbon! I also put each persons name on the back. While we were in Vegas last year I bought a bright polka dot luggage set so I don't think I will have trouble finding mine...but I think I will make a set for me too! Tags

Here's a quick little project (DIY)...

Final Would you like to make this!? Here's how!1 Frame First get a 12x24 frame (I got this one from Hobby Lobby at 50% off) and a 12x24 piece of metal mesh (this one is from Loews). Next, your going to need an upholstery stapler and some photos! Staple the metal mesh to the back of your frame. It will look like this! (BTW these sheets come in 24x36 if you want a larger size)5 Now just add some magnets to the back of your photos. I found these numbers at a second-hand store so I added those too. I also used two mirror hearts from Heidi Swapp with magnets on the back of them for something cute! The possibilities are endless! The great thing is that you can swap out photos and magnet embellishments whenever you want!4 Close up Enjoy!!!

Before and after....

Ottoman before I didn't mean to get it but I was at a local second-hand store and everything in the store was 1/2 off! I got this ottoman (which I have been searching for) for....wait for it....$3.50! It was a bit stained but in great shape and had awesome wood feet to it too! I headed right over to JoAnns where they had their 54 inches fabric half off of half. So......3.00/per yard. I painted the feet black and for $12.50 I have a nearly new ottoman! I am so excited!!! I found a few other items but will share those at another time!Ottoman

Reminisce makes the local news

Here is a video Deb sent to me today about Reminisce. It just brings tears to my eyes.

Thank you , thank you, thank you!

To all the girls at Reminisce that put my projects and pages on a high shelf....I thank you! I stopped by and was devastated to see the condition of the store. It is like the loss of a loved one. The girls were all cleaning and sorting and called to let me know that all but ONE project was saved. In fact, the only things not damaged by the waist-high water in the store were our beloved albums and projects! I think the big guy was looking out for us! It was just so sad to see the store filled with mud....and the smell! I am just going to be sad for awhile. I am grateful to have my projects back but will miss this place! Thanks again everyone!

I finally got a layout done!

Wing layout 1 I have been so busy working on projects that I was thrilled to get one layout done! My good friends from work took me out to dinner tonight for a late birthday and then I came home and made a page. It's been so long and I am so happy to have gotten one done. I used some new Prima transparent "packing" tape and some fun angel wings I got at a second hand place! Accucut chipboard and large die, Luxe paper and American Craft glitter chipboard letters.

We are home...and water is everywhere!

Bilde[6] Bilde[8] Flood photo We arrived home safely, after 20 hours of driving, and are glad to be home. The flooding here is incredible and so sad. On a personal note, Reminisce my LSS is completely underwater. Sadly, I had about 6-8 albums in there along with many layouts which are now gone. I am so sad about this but am trying to keep things in perspective as many here have lost their homes and possessions. Ultimately, I am just glad to be home and safe. I guess it just made me realize how much those albums meant to me. I hope to recreate some of them! Another successful vacation completed and photos will follow as soon as I get back into the swing of things!

Reminisce (the store) is closing....

I just found out that it is official...Reminisce is closing the doors at the end of this month. I am so sad to hear about this. This has become my "second home". I go there just to talk to the girls and see what is going on! Ok, I do love to shop there for the lastest stuff and I did love teaching classes too. I am so going to miss seeing everyone and wandering the aisles and running into other friends (like Steph)! I am still in denial as I write this, hoping that it isn't true. Thank you Matt and Andria for starting this wonderful business and introducing me to this awesome hobby...it has changed my life! As have the friendships I have made a long the way! I am not going away though. I hope to continue teaching (possibly classes at my home) and will definitely keep creating and sharing! Shelley

.On the road again....

We made it to Colorado Springs after spending the night at my parents house in Omaha. We saw the Air Force Academy (which was awesome) but couldn't get into the chapel as there was a wedding. Next, we visited Focus on the Family as my children have grown up listening to Adventures in Odyssey radio programs and we got to have a treat at the Whit's End Ice Cream Shoppe! It is also the home of the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. Our last stop was the Garden of the Gods! Very cool red rock formations here. I am beat and ready for bed. We are off to New Mexico in the morning. Air force academy 3 Narnia Garden of the gods 2

I couple of projects for the graduation party...

Flower_2

Flower_1

I just loved what I saw on the SIS tv webisode using Hambly Transparencies and heat to make these beautiful flowers! I did mine in Hawkeye colors! I used a plain terracotta pot, spray painted it with chalkboad paint (so we can write with chalk on it later) and put the flowers on painted dowels with pipecleaners wrapped around that! I little ribbon and some cuttings from my shredder to make the grass for the pot and that was it! Pretty cute and pretty easy!

Project #2

Okay, this one is from my love of shopping at second-hand shops and when I saw this I  knew that I wanted to use it to store all my little embellishments and yet have them accessible! This is a revolving spice rack that I picke up for $2. I washed it, punched circles with my circle punch in fun patterned paper, adhered it to the lids of the jars and there you go! Just add your goodies to the jars! I have it right on my desk to I just reach and spin for what I want!

Project of the Week #1

I thought I would start a little project sharing. I hope to do it once a week ( except during vacation!) The first one is something I am doing for my daughter's graduation party. You will need a "floating frame", Hambly transparency, Hambly rubons, and Me and My Big Ideas words(rhinestones). I found this frame at Michaels for $9.99 and it is 11x14 inches. I know there are bigger and smaller ones too. My photo is a 5x7. First, I cut a piece of Grandma's Wallpaper Hambly transparency and adhered it to the back piece of the two clear pieces. Then I added my photo. Just make sure you cover the part of the frame that houses the easel that makes the frame stand. (this frame can be vertical or horizontal). Next, I added my Hambly rubon, and the rhinestone "senior". If you wanted to add more embellishments you could. I chose to keep my simple to emphasize the photo. Also, if your embellishments would be too bulky to fit in between the two frames you could add your embellshments on the outside of the frame! That's it....pretty easy, but very cool and classy looking!

My weekend project....

I found this door at my county landfill. They have a spot that is open on Saturday's from 9-12 and they have all kinds of things that people toss out as trash but can be a true treasure! When I saw this circa 1880 door I knew just the right place for it. My obsession for windows and doors in photography is now my passion in my home decorating! The window is from the same place. I just left both in the condition they were in (love it) and broke out the window in the door. Both objects have such character and I plan on placing photos or a vinyl saying in the middle of them!
